Located in the coastal city of Visakhapatnam, the NRI Institute of Medical Sciences (NRIIMS) is a private medical college established in 2012. Affiliated with Dr. Y.S.R. University of Health Sciences and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), the institution has become a significant choice for medical aspirants in Andhra Pradesh. The flagship program at NRIIMS is the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), with an annual intake of 250 students. Admission is exclusively based on NEET-UG scores, with seat allocation managed through state counselling conducted by Dr. YSRUHS. Upon completion of the 4.5-year academic term, MBBS students undertake a one-year compulsory rotating residential internship (CRRI) at the college's associated 1280-bed teaching hospital. Following the internship, graduates typically either begin preparing for postgraduate entrance exams like NEET-PG or join various healthcare establishments as medical officers.
