Rani Durgavati Medical College (RDMC), located in Banda, Uttar Pradesh, is a relatively new government medical institution established in 2021. Affiliated with the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University in Lucknow, the college is fully recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC). As a new college, it is yet to be featured in the annual NIRF rankings, but it is quickly becoming a notable choice for medical aspirants in the Bundelkhand region. The primary course offered at RDMC Banda is the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), with an annual intake of 100 students. Admission is highly competitive and is based on the scores obtained in the NEET UG entrance examination. The counselling for seat allocation is managed by the MCC for the All-India Quota and by the UP DGME for the State Quota. For the upcoming 2025-26 academic session, the annual tuition fee for the MBBS program is expected to be approximately INR 42,000, in line with other government medical colleges in the state. Since the first MBBS batch will complete its academic tenure in the coming years, specific placement statistics for 2025 or 2026 are not yet available. Following the 4.5-year curriculum, students will undergo a mandatory one-year compulsory rotating residential internship (CRRI) at the associated hospital. During this period, they are projected to receive a monthly stipend of around INR 12,000, as per Uttar Pradesh state government norms. An RDMC degree provides a strong foundation for pursuing postgraduate studies through NEET PG or for securing positions as medical officers in government healthcare.
