Martin Luther Christian University, commonly referred to as MLCU Shillong, is a private institution with a Christian focus that was established in 2005. This university came into existence through The Meghalaya Legislative Assembly's Act No. 11 of 2005. It's recognized and accredited by both UGC and NAAC. MLCU offers a diverse range of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs spanning multiple disciplines like Management, Science, Arts, Medical, Social Work, Tourism, and Commerce. Among its offerings, BSc and diploma programs are particularly highlighted as flagship courses. Admission to MLCU is based on either merit or entrance exams, depending on the course in question. Though the official placement statistics for 2025 have not been disclosed, research and reviews from students indicate that the highest package offered ranged between INR 6 and 12 LPA. The placement rate was approximately 85% that year. Some of the premier recruiters included companies like Wipro, TCS, Amazon, Deloitte, and Infosys.
