

Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences, commonly referred to as UPUMS, is a state medical university that was founded in 2016. It is affiliated with Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University and has approvals from MCI, DCI, and PCI. UPUMS enjoys recognition from the UGC and is accredited by NAAC, IQAC, and NABL. As per the NIRF 2024 report, UPUMS falls in the 101-125 rank band in the 'Pharmacy' category, while Collegedunia ranked it 192 in the Medical category for 2025. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs across various fields such as Medical, Dental, Paramedical Sciences, Nursing, and Pharmacy. The flagship course at UPUMS is the MBBS program, with a total tuition fee of INR 81,000. To qualify for this program, candidates should have completed 10+2 in the PCB stream with at least 50% marks from a recognized board. Admission is based on NEET UG scores followed by NEET UG counselling. According to the NIRF 2025 report on UPUMS Placements 2024, the median package for B.Sc graduates was INR 3.2 lakhs, for B.Pharm it was INR 3.35 lakhs, and for MBBS it was INR 12 lakhs. For MD/MS, the median package was INR 15.5 lakhs. Prominent recruiters in the placement drive included Fortis Hospital, Manipal Hospital, and Ranbaxy, among others.
