About

The Rajkumari Amrit Kaur College of Nursing stands out as a leading institute for nursing education, not just in India but also in the South-East Asian region. This esteemed college provides both foundational and advanced education programs in nursing. Founded in 1946, it receives funding from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and is affiliated with the University of Delhi (Nursing). RAKCON offers three key courses in the medical field. The courses include a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Nursing, which spans eight semesters over four years and requires 75% attendance. There are 69 seats available for this course which includes an internship. The Master of Nursing is a two-year program with an intake of 24 students. Additionally, there is a PhD in Nursing, which lasts four years. Although the intake for the PhD is not specified, the program is intensive and requires dedication. For the B.Sc. program, applications are open exclusively for female candidates who have completed 10+2 with subjects like English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Admission is granted purely on merit. The Masters in Nursing requires candidates to hold a B.Sc in Nursing along with two years of relevant experience. Candidates are selected based on their graduation marks and a selection test. For the PhD program, applicants should have a Masters or M.Phil degree from Delhi University or another recognized institution, with a minimum of 50% qualifying marks. Additionally, 5% of seats are reserved for foreign nationals, equating to three spots. These international candidates need to provide proof of English proficiency along with a conduct certificate from their last educational institute.
