Established in 2007, Karpaga Vinayaga Institute of Dental Sciences (KIDS) is a private institution located in Maduranthakam, near Chennai. The college is affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and holds recognition from the Dental Council of India (DCI), ensuring its curriculum meets national standards for dental education. For students targeting admissions in 2025, KIDS primarily offers the undergraduate Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program with an annual intake of 100 students. It also provides postgraduate MDS courses across various dental specialities. Admission to the flagship BDS course is strictly based on the candidate's NEET UG score, with seat allocation managed through the Tamil Nadu state counselling process. The anticipated annual fee for government quota seats in the BDS program for the 2025-2026 academic year is approximately INR 4.5 Lakhs, though this is subject to final confirmation by the state authorities. Unlike engineering colleges, dental institutes focus on clinical training over traditional campus placements. Upon completion of their four-year degree, BDS students undertake a mandatory one-year paid rotatory internship (CRRI).
