

Zakir Husain College of Engineering & Technology (ZHCET), linked with Aligarh Muslim University, was set up on 21st November 1938 to honor the academician and former President of India, Dr. Zakir Husain. The college is recognized by AICTE and approved by the NBA. ZHCET is known for providing a blend of modern and traditional values to its students. With a staff strength of 400 and 2000 students, the college offers a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and research courses. Among the notable alumni are Manoj Bhatia, Associate VP at Mahindra Satyam, Mansoor Ahmed, General Manager at Airport Authority of India, and Sudhanshu Jain, Director of Product Management at Alcatel. ZHCET houses several departments including Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Computer Science, Electronics, Chemical, Petroleum Engineering, and Architecture. In terms of placements, various departments saw impressive selections: Chemical Engineering had 14, Civil Engineering 41, Computer Engineering 34, Electrical Engineering 58, Electronics Engineering 37, Mechanical Engineering 33, Petrochemical Engineering 4, and MCA 19, totaling up to 240 placements. The college also fosters extracurricular activities. AMU Roboclub, founded in 2006, encourages electronic innovations, while Ingenious Solutions works to enhance students' soft skills. It features numerous technical societies like IEEE, IETE, ASME, SAE, and ASCE. As for facilities, the Maulana Azad Library houses an extensive collection, with 9,00,000 books, 363 international journals, and various national and international conference materials. ZHCET celebrates its annual fest, ZARF, which offers students a platform for events like aero-modeling and robotics. Other festivals include Tameer for Civil Engineering, Paradigm for Mechanical Engineering, and Kaleidoscope for arts and literature. The college has received several accolades, being ranked 4th for TEQUIP by NPIU under MHRD, 60th by Outlook India in 2012, and 51st by Dataquest in 2005 among engineering schools in India.
