

Government Medical College in Manjeri, situated in the Malappuram District, was established in 2013 and has received approval from the Medical Council of India (MCI). It is affiliated with Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) making it the sixth government medical college in Kerala. Since 2016, Kerala's Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, has been supporting the institute. The college offers a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program that spans five years, followed by a one-year internship. The college comes equipped with 500 beds and 12 operating theatres, accommodating 100 students each year. Placement opportunities at GMCM are available in both government and private hospitals. Graduates can work as general physicians in the private sector or join the government healthcare services. Additionally, students have the option to pursue higher studies after completing their program.
