

The National Institute of Technology Mizoram, commonly referred to as NIT Mizoram, is an autonomous institution in India that was founded in 2010. It holds accreditation from both AICTE and NBA. According to collegedunia, it was ranked 121st in the engineering category in 2025, while NIRF also evaluated its standing. NIT Mizoram provides a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs across several specialisations. The BTech program is the main attraction of NIT Mizoram. To be eligible for the BTech course, candidates must complete their 10+2 with a science stream, maintaining at least 75% marks. Admission is based on JEE Main scores and subsequent JoSAA counselling. For 2025, the JEE Main cutoff ranks for the general category spanned from 801 to 51,888. The total tuition fee for the BTech course at NIT Mizoram is INR 6 Lakhs. As of now, the NIT Mizoram Placement Report for 2026 hasn't been published. However, in a recent placement drive, the highest package that was offered hit INR 35 LPA, and the average package was around INR 8.5 LPA. Out of the 102 BTech students, 95 managed to secure placements, resulting in an overall placement rate of 93.1%. Prominent recruiters included companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, and Jio. The institution holds various beneficial events and programs and nurtures a vibrant campus life. NIT Mizoram continues to draw comparisons with other NITs, such as those in Nagaland and Manipur, due to its academic offerings and successful alumni network.
