The University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), founded in 2002, is a department under Punjab University. It is recognized by AICTE and was placed at the 167th rank for BTech in 2023 by IIRF. UIET Chandigarh offers a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in six fields: Biotechnology, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, and Mechanical Engineering. Admission is determined through a combination of 10+2 scores and JEE Main results, followed by a Joint Admission Committee (JAC) process. The total fee for this four-year BE program is INR 4.63 Lakhs. Besides BE, UIET also provides courses in ME, MTech, and PhD. During the UIET Chandigarh Placement Drive in 2024, 180 students secured jobs successfully. Leading companies like Amazon, Accenture, Google, Cisco, American Express, KPMG, and L&T Technology Services were among the top recruiters.
