The National Institute of Technology Puducherry, also called NIT Puducherry, is one of the 31 NITs established by the Government of India in 2009. In 2024, it achieved a ranking of 97th by NIRF, while Collegedunia placed it 79th under the Engineering category in 2025. The institute offers a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs, with admissions based on national-level exams accepted by NIT Puducherry. The flagship B.Tech program here is available in five different specializations, with a total fee of INR 5.6 lakhs. The final placement report for 2025 revealed that the highest salary package offered was INR 24 LPA, whereas the average package came to INR 7.9 LPA in the same year. In comparison, the top package for 2024 was INR 20 LPA. Prominent companies that participated in the 2024 placement drive included Zoho, SAP, Tech Mahindra, L&T, TCS, and Deloitte.
