National Institute of Technology (NIT) Sikkim, founded in 2010, is an autonomous university recognized by the UGC and AICTE. In 2025, Collegedunia ranked it 112 in the engineering category, while IIRF placed it at 102. NIT Sikkim provides undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD courses across different specializations. The flagship program at NIT Sikkim is the BTech degree. To qualify for this program, students need to have completed 10+2 with at least 75% in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry. Selection is based on JEE Main rankings, followed by JoSAA Counselling. In 2025, the JEE Main cutoff for general category applicants ranged from 21087 to 49684. The total cost for the BTech program is INR 5.82 lakhs. During the latest placement drive, the highest package reached INR 44 LPA, with the lowest at INR 11 LPA, and the overall placement rate stood at 75.37%.
