The Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust University, commonly known as HIHT University, is quite unique in its mission to serve humanity alongside providing top-notch education to its students. Spanning over 200 acres, this university is well-equipped with state-of-the-art lecture theatres, tutorial and seminar rooms, classrooms, and facilities for training. There's even an animal house for research, adhering to CPCSEA guidelines. Founded in 1989 by Shri Swami Rama, HIHT University is managed by the Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust and boasts recognition from the UGC and Medical Council of India. This private institution is based in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, and even offers scholarships to its students. HIHT University provides an array of courses taught by an exceptional faculty, covering both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Currently, they offer 1 undergraduate medical course, 7 undergraduate paramedical courses, 18 postgraduate medical courses, 3 postgraduate paramedical courses, and 3 Ph.D. programs. Apart from academics, HIHT University is involved in various impactful activities. The Sewa Project aims to extend medical services to the poorest, offering free treatments including surgery, medicines, and food. The university is also part of The Smile Train, focusing on plastic surgery for children with cleft lips and palates. Additionally, the National Service Scheme provides service-based learning. The campus houses separate hostels for undergraduate boys and girls, with postgraduate students having the option of studio apartments. Separate mess facilities cater to both boys and girls. The associated multi-specialty hospital, with 750 beds, serves as a vital training and teaching hub, enriching the educational experience for students by allowing hands-on experience in various medical disciplines.
