The University of Lucknow, founded in 1920, is a prominent state university located in Uttar Pradesh, spread over 219 acres. It is recognized by UGC and AICTE and has received top accreditations like NAAC A++, BCI, and NCTE. Ranked within the 151-200 range by NIRF (2024) and securing the 25th spot in IIRF (Law) 2025, the university offers a vast array of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate courses in various fields such as Arts, Unani, Ayurveda, Engineering and Technology, Commerce, Education, Yoga and Alternative Medicine, Fine Arts, Science, and Law. Popular programs include B.Tech, BCA, BA, B.Sc, MBA, MA, and M.Sc. The admission process at Lucknow University relies on merit and entrance exams. It accepts scores from JEE Main, CUET UG/PG, UP B.Ed JEE, and CAT, plus conducts its own tests like UGET, UGPET, PGET, and LUMET. For B.Tech admissions in 2025, the closing rank for Computer Science was 108622 and for Civil Engineering, it was 219694 under JEE-Main and UPTAC. The CAT 2024 cut-off for MBA courses is set at 40 percentile. The B.Tech program is a favorite among students, with the first-year fee at INR 1.26 lakh.
