Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad, often referred to as IIIT Allahabad, was established in 1999 and attained the status of a Deemed University. It received the title of an Institute of National Importance by an Act of Parliament in 2014. As per Collegedunia's 2025 rankings, it stands at 23rd position in the engineering category, while Outlook's 2025 ranking places it at the 19th position for engineering. IIIT Allahabad offers a wide array of programs at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. The B.Tech program is the institution's flagship course. To qualify for this program, students need at least 75% in their 12th-grade PCM subjects and must clear the JEE Main exam, followed by JoSAA counselling. The first-year tuition fee for the B.Tech course at IIIT Allahabad is INR 1.8 Lakhs, with the entire course costing INR 6.48 Lakhs. In the latest placement season of 2025, IIIT Allahabad reported a highest salary package of INR 120 LPA, while the average package offered was INR 33 LPA. The placement success rate for undergraduate students was 97.9%. During the placement drive, 195 companies visited the campus, with top recruiters including Google, Amazon, Infosys, Microsoft, and Paytm.
