

Guru Nanak Dev University, commonly referred to as GNDU, was founded in 1969 in Amritsar and holds approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC). GNDU features 14 undergraduate and 13 postgraduate degrees, with admissions generally based on entrance exam scores, although merit from prior qualifications is also considered for certain courses. Remarkably, the university has secured the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Trophy over 23 times, highlighting its dedication to sports. Additionally, the Ministry of HRD in India has acknowledged GNDU for having the second cleanest campus among government universities. In the 2023 placement season, GNDU saw the highest salary package reach INR 17.40 lakh per annum, while the average was INR 6.58 lakh per annum. The report notes that a total of 534 students were employed, with TCS Ninja hiring 169 of them. Prestigious companies such as Infosys, Accenture, Amazon, and several others participated in the recruitment drive. Students were also offered six-month internships, with the peak monthly salary being INR 80,000.
