About
Sri Siddhartha University, known as a Deemed to be University under the UGC Act of 1956, has its roots as Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education. It provides various programs at the bachelor, master, and research levels in medicine and engineering. The university encompasses three affiliated colleges: Sri Siddhartha Medical College, Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology, and Sri Siddhartha Dental College. A significant highlight of the university is its association with a vast 1350-bed hospital featuring 12 major and several minor operation theaters. Sponsored by the Sri Siddhartha Education Society, admission to the university's courses requires candidates to qualify through an All India Entrance Test. Selections for diverse programs are strictly based on merit from this entrance exam. As a member of the Association of Indian Universities, the university distinguishes itself with a transparent and effective administrative model that offers students a conducive learning environment. It has made substantial contributions to research, including publishing in SCOPUS Indexed Journals across medical, engineering, and dental disciplines, as well as securing grants for research projects from various agencies. Founded in 2008, the university maintains affiliations with organizations including UGC, MCI, AICTE, and DCI. It offers an array of courses: 11 undergraduate, 10 postgraduate, along with Ph.D. programs, accommodating 800 undergraduates, 200 postgraduates, and 100 Ph.D. students. The university's ties with numerous MNCs, alongside the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP), enhance both student and faculty industry interactions. Notably, the Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology has garnered World Bank recognition for establishing cutting-edge laboratories and research centers. The university also provides innovative teaching initiatives like the CME programme, CDE programme, seminars, and Personality Development Programme to further academic excellence.
