NALSAR University of Law, fondly known as NALSAR Hyderabad, is a premier law institute situated in Shamirpet, Hyderabad, Telangana. Established in 1998 by the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research University Act, it represents one of the leading legal education platforms in India. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), has approval from the Bar Council of India (BCI), is associated with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), and is accredited with an 'A' grade by NAAC. The university offers a range of programs across different levels, such as the 5-year integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), a one-year LL.M., an M.B.A. in Court Administration and Law, along with Ph.D. programs in Law, and various postgraduate diplomas and certificates in specialized law fields. Admission to both undergraduate and postgraduate law courses is through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). In terms of rankings in 2025, NALSAR Hyderabad has consistently performed well. It was placed 2nd out of 102 law colleges by Collegedunia. Furthermore, The Week and IIRF ranked it second nationally and first within Hyderabad. NALSAR has also established a strong record in placements for its 2025 graduating class. All 95 students who registered for placement secured jobs, with the highest package being INR 65 LPA from an international law firm and an average package of INR 19 LPA. Notable recruiters included Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, which hired 23 graduates, along with other top law firms like AZB & Partners, Khaitan & Co, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Trilegal, and Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan.
