Thiagarajar College of Engineering, widely known as TCE Madurai, was founded in 1957 by Karumuttu Thiagarajan Chettiar. It is an autonomous institution supported by the government and affiliated with Anna University, Chennai. In the Collegedunia 2025 rankings, TCE Madurai stands at 270 among 762 engineering institutions in India. The college has earned an A+ accreditation from NAAC, carrying a CGPA of 3.47, and is approved by AICTE. It is ranked between 101-150 in the NIRF 2024 for the BE program and holds the 25th position in the Architecture category. TCE Madurai offers a wide range of programs in Engineering, Architecture, and Science, with 9 undergraduate degrees, 10 postgraduate degrees, and various doctoral courses. Its flagship program, the B.E., is a four-year course with a total fee of INR 3,48,000. Eligibility criteria include a 10+2 qualification with at least 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, followed by the TNEA Counseling process. While the TCE Madurai placement report for 2025 isn't released yet, the 2024 placement statistics are impressive, with 809 students securing opportunities. The highest package reached INR 29 LPA and the average package was around INR 7.1 LPA.
