Pune Institute of Computer Technology, widely referred to as PICT Pune, was founded in 1983. It holds accreditation from both NAAC and NBA. In recent rankings, Collegedunia placed it at 116th in the engineering category for 2025, while it was ranked within the 101-150 band in India by NIRF for 2024 in the same category. PICT Pune offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs, with the primary focus on the B.E. degree, which provides five different specializations. Admission to the B.E. program is primarily through MHT CET or JEE Main along with CAP Counselling. The JEE Main cutoff for 2024 for the general category ranged from 15,892 to 36,164. The overall fee for the B.E. program is approximately INR 4.4 lakhs. The 2025 placement report for PICT Pune shows that out of 775 students, 301 secured placements. In the previous year, 2024, the institute achieved a 92.89% placement rate with 706 out of 760 students getting placed. Notably, in the Computer Engineering (CE) branch, 293 students were placed, representing a significant portion of the placements, while 218 students from the Engineering department were also placed, boasting an 87.20% placement rate. Top recruiters included esteemed companies such as Accenture, Barclays, HCL Technologies, ACI Worldwide, Bitwise, and L&T Infotech. PICT Pune is not only known for its solid placement stats but also for its extensive comparison with other prominent institutions like VIT Vellore, SPIT Mumbai, and IIT Pune. It continues to hold its place as a respected institution in engineering education.
