BMS Institute of Technology & Management, commonly referred to as BMSIT, was founded in 2002. It is part of the Visvesvaraya Technological University in Belagavi and has recognition from AICTE and NBA with NAAC accrediting it with an A grade. According to the 2025 ranking by Collegedunia, it holds the 259th position in engineering, while NIRF in 2024 placed it between 201 and 300. The institute provides undergraduate and postgraduate programs, mainly leading to a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in nine different specializations. Admissions for the BE programs are conducted through KCET or COMED K. For the 2024 intake, the KCET cutoff for the general category falls between 8730 and 75173 ranks. The fee for the BE course varies from INR 6 to 26 lakhs. As per the 2025 placement report, the institute saw the highest package reaching INR 46.4 LPA, with a median package of INR 6 LPA and an average of INR 8.07 LPA. About 658 students found placements, with major companies like Google, HCL, HITACHI, and Gameskraft amongst the top recruiters.
