Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology, known as ACCET, is a government-run autonomous engineering college located in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu. Founded in 1952 by Dr. R.M. Alagappa Chettiar, the college spreads over 204 acres of green space. It is affiliated with Anna University and approved by AICTE. The college holds an 'A' grade accreditation from NBA and NAAC. In the 2025 rankings by Collegedunia, ACCET Karaikudi achieved a position between 326-762 in the Engineering category. The college offers 16 different undergraduate and postgraduate courses focusing on engineering. The flagship program at ACCET is the B.E. course. Admission to this program is based on TNEA or TANCET scores, and seats are allotted through the TNEA counselling process. Besides the B.E., the college also offers M.E. programs. The tuition fee for the first year of the B.E. course is about INR 55,000. According to the NIRF Report of 2025, 190 undergraduate students secured placements in 2024, with a median salary of INR 3.4 lakhs.
