About
IRT Perundurai Medical College (IRTPMC) was founded in 1992 and is located in Erode, Tamil Nadu. It is affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University in Chennai and has been approved by the Bar Council of India. The establishment of this college was a significant step by the State Government in 1986 to cater to the long-cherished need of Transport Corporation employees for a Medical College and Hospital providing specialized healthcare to the locals and transport workers, including their families. The hospital associated with the college began its operations in September 1994 with a capacity of 600 beds. The college covers an area of 327 acres, positioned 20 kilometers west of Erode along the Erode-Coimbatore National Highway. Its library is well-stocked, comprising 9,724 books, 2,915 back volumes of journals, 413 medical CDs, 66 audio cassettes, 165 video cassettes, 67 Indian journals, and 33 foreign journals. The college ensures that it has all the essential facilities required for the students' academic and practical needs.
