Government Medical College, Thrissur, commonly referred to as GMC Thrissur, is a government-run institution that began its journey in 1982. Situated in Mulagunnathukavu (M.G. Kavu), approximately 14 kilometers from Thrissur city in Kerala, this college has received approval from the National Medical Commission (NMC) and is associated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur. As per the 2025 rankings by Collegedunia.com, it stands in the 63rd position among 522 colleges in India. The college encompasses 34 departments, but the MBBS program remains its main attraction. Admission to the MBBS program is determined through the NEET UG score, followed by registration via KEAM. The program offers 175 seats in total, with the overall course fee being INR 31,715.
