_Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Pharmaceutical Science (GIPS), located in Guwahati, was founded in 2007 by Shrimanta Shankar Academy (SSA). It is affiliated with Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) and has received approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and recognition from the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). GIPS offers various pharmacy courses including Diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs. Particularly, its B.Pharm course is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). As per NIRF 2023 rankings, GIPS Guwahati finds its place in the 101-125 bracket in the Pharmacy category. Admission into GIPS Guwahati's programs is determined through the GCUCAT test with an interview, while entry into the M.Pharm course requires a valid GPAT score.
