The Indian Institute of Information Technology Surat, commonly referred to as IIIT Surat, was founded in 2017 with the support of the Ministry of Human Resource Development. It is accredited by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The institute offers undergraduate and PhD courses, primarily focusing on the B.Tech degree, which is available in two specializations. To secure admission to the B.Tech program, students must appear for the JEE Main exam, followed by CSAB counselling sessions. For the general category in 2025, the Round 1 cutoff marks ranged from 21474 to 31598. The total fee for the B.Tech program at IIIT Surat is approximately INR 6.33 lakhs. While the 2025 placement report is yet to be published, the 2024 data shows a noteworthy trend. From the B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering batch, comprising 63 students, 41 registered for placements. Out of these, 29 students were successfully placed with the highest offered package being INR 64 lakh per annum. The average package stood at INR 13.87 lakh per annum, while the median was INR 12 lakh per annum. Esteemed companies like Oracle, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Uber were among the top recruiters. IIIT Surat provides ample opportunities for its students, with a strong emphasis on computer science education and industry connections, preparing them well for promising careers in the tech industry.
